12-31-24 Ordered: 3/5 -Tonkotsu $14.50- the flavor was just ok nothing special. I also didn't like the fact that my soup broth was not hot. -Dynamite $13- overloaded w mayonnaise. -Rainbow $13- the roll was filling. -Crunchy $7 HH plus eel $3- adding eel atop the roll was a good choice. -California $5 HH -Salmon Kama $5 HH- good portion. Perfectly cooked. -Sake $5 HH Service: 4/5 Our waitress gave us the courtesy of checking to see if we wanted to order more food before the Happy Hour ended. We enjoyed our experience. The place was happening and had customers going in and out constantly. Note: Best time to beat dinner crowd is to arrive before 5pm. Otherwise, there's a wait.
Delicious! Fresh! & Fast! My first time here a couple days ago and couldn't stop thinking about it. My partner wanted ramen and I wanted sushi .. and Ototo Sushi popped up in our Yelp feed. Such a perfect combo! We came here on a Thursday and it was a full house. It was a somewhat a rainy day so outside sitting was a no-go, but there were a couple tables open and a fully vacant bar available. Hostess sat us right away and given us menu & glass of waters. Servers here are super attentive and will accommodate you. Ambience was warm and inviting they have a sushi bar and a kitchen grill. Ordered myself spider roll and yellow flash. Suuuper delicious and tasty! Also, Calamari . Yum! Would come back here again & again.
The Picasso roll with yellowtail, crab, Sriracha and Ponzo sauce was delicious. Fresh Micro greens were served on top. Service was good. Also tried their miso soup, which is always a great starter. Comfortable ambience.
Cute place with great sushi. I placed a pickup order through Uber Eats and it was ready as expected. My favorite menu item was Cabo roll with lemon wedges - refreshing and delicious.
Really a 4.5. This is a great place for well-priced, fresh sushi with fairly good (and very friendly) service. The miso soup was a bit bland and sashimi cuts/presentation could use a bit of help, but the fish was all fresh, shishito peppers were in a delicious sauce, and the price is right. I wouldn't bring someone who says they love Sushi here on a special date, but this is a great everyday place to scratch a sushi itch.
They do have indoor and outdoor sitting but with this weather indoor is a must. They do have plenty of parking since it's in a big shopping center. The sake and beer were refreshing. The yakisoba was okay not sweet like other place. We ordered the crunchy roll, California roll, calamari and edamame from happy hour. Also had a couple ototo and two other rolls. For a total of about 170. Not too bad for the food we had. It was pretty busy but the waiter was very attentive.
Felt like sushi and didn't feel like driving far. Luckily Ototo is right across the street from our place. It's located off Balboa Ave and Genesee Ave in the Balboa Plaza where the Vons store and Kohl's are at. Next door to Jersey Mike and other eateries. It had been awhile since we've eaten here and it's actually very good now. The rolls are bigger in size and it tastes very fresh. Got the California roll for the kiddo but we went with the caterpillar roll and shrimp tempura roll. We got there towards closing time but the rolls came out quick and it still tasted good and fresh. They do have a full menu of other items and not just sushi. It's nice to have a convenient spot for sushi near us. Definitely will eat there again.
I have always seen this spot whenever I am in the area, and I am there pretty frequently lol. Anyways, I decided to try it out. I have tried the one in Liberty Station area awhile ago, so I was looking forward to trying this location out. Upon entering, I noticed that they were pretty busy, which was a pretty good sign. The interior was cute and casual with lots of seating. Since we were a walk-in, they did not have seating inside, but we were seated right away outside where there were plenty of seating. What we got: - Seaweed salad: after having their seaweed salad, I am convinced that I must have it whenever I get sushi. It was fresh, delicious, and the sauce was perfect! - Furikake fries: crunchy and yummy! - Scallop dynamite roll: baked krab and avocado roll topped with scallop, creamy crab sauce, green onions, eel sauce, tobiko, sesame seeds (inside) krab, avocado (taken from online menu) -- this roll was really good! the inside was creamy, the scallops were delicious; definitely recommend this roll! Overall, I like this spot and I am looking forward to trying out their happy hour menu items.
